May is National Bike Month. The community is invited to celebrate by participating in several bicycle-related events, many of which will be held in Old Town. The Bicycle Rodeo and Mayor's Bike Ride were the first of the events, but there are still more to come.
Thanks to some Winthrop University students, locking up bikes in downtown Rock Hill and at Earth Fare will become much easier - and much more artistic.

The Old Town Market in downtown Rock Hill opened Thursday night with what Old Town development manager Chrys Tuttle said is just a "taste of what is to come."

Farm-fresh eggs, herb plants, cut flowers, hanging baskets and aprons will be on display - and on sale - several times a week this year in downtown Rock Hill.
The Old Town Association and the City of Rock Hill opened Old Town Market on May 5 for the 2011 season. This is a farmers market where fresh, locally grown produce and handmade works by local artisans and crafters are made available to the community. Old Town Market is located at 118 Caldwell Street in Rock Hill, SC and will be open on a set schedule until September 29.
Rock Hill resident Nathaniel Jaggers has been part of the South Central Neighborhood practically his whole life. He's working at a plot in a garden, “We try to look out for each other."
He calls it a working class neighborhood where people strive to make a living... But over the decades it's seen some changes.
