Vernon Grant enjoyed drawing Santa Claus more than any other subject. This exhibit highlights the illustrator’s original Santa Claus creations, along with Grant's world famous gnomes. The outdoor banner exhibit is featured all month long during December.
Gingerbread House Contest and Display

See gingerbread houses created by professional chefs, amateurs, and youth. Cast your vote for the People’s Choice Award by donating $1 to Habitat for Humanity. Ballot box on site. Awards announced Sat. at noon at the Center for the Arts.
Name the Gnome Contest

Find the location of 27 Vernon Grant gnomes in storefronts up and down Main Street. Come up for a name for one gnome or all of them and drop them in the ballot box or per on-line instructions. The person who has the most names selected will win Vernon Grant artwork. Pick up your ballot form and map at the Center for the Arts or on-line on this site.
Vernon Grant's Santas People's Choice Contest

The Festival Chairman has selected twelve of Vernon Grant's famed illustrations for the public to vote on and choose their favorite Santa image. The People's Choice Award will be announced at the festival finale and the image will be used for a souvenir available at ChristmasVille 2011. Voting concludes Sunday at 3 PM. A drawing will be held and one participant will win a framed authentic 1932 Ladies Home Journal magazine cover depicting Vernon Grant's first published Santa artwork.
Fresh Cut Christmas Tree Sales

Children's Museum Arts Talk Luncheon

Winthrop University's 21st Annual Holiday Pottery Sale

This is Knight Southeastern's 5th year of promoting Doll & Bear Shows and our 3rd year of promoting Doll & Bear Expos. Souper Super with Gingerbread People Decorating and Face Painting

Enjoy our now traditional souper supper dinner, muffins, hot chocolate and coffee. Children will thrill at creating their own gingerbread people and then celebrate the season with a festive face painting for the whole family. Rain location will be inside church parish hall.
Taste of Christmas

You won't need to merely dream of candy canes or sugar plums anymore as these delicious aromas fill the air. Come fill a goody box full of sweet and savory treats that will surely bring the Spirit of Christmas to one and all. Boxes come in small ($5), medium ($10), and large ($20). Come pick out your favorite seasonal treats. Whole cakes, pies, and desserts will also be on sale along with homemade canned goods.
Winthrop University Christmas Tree Lighting

In 1969 the lighting of the tree at Winthrop became an official Christmas event, and today continues as part of the ChristmasVille festival. Members of the Winthrop University Student Alumni Council host the tree lighting ceremony prior to the Rock Hill's Christmas Parade and provide entertainment and refreshments for the campus and community. Join students, faculty/staff, alumni, and friends for this festive and memorable tradition. PLEASE NOTE: Oakland Ave. will be closed during this event for the parade. More than Snap! Crackle! Pop!- A Vernon Grant Play

An original play by local award-winning playwright, Laura Pfizenmayer, about Vernon Grant - one of America's most prolific illustrators, creator of Kellogg's® Snap!® Crackle! ® Pop!®, and artist whose work inspired the ChristmasVille celebration. See the artist's whimsical gnomes come to life in this magical play capturing Grant's humble beginnings, his rise to fame, and his move to Rock Hill. Guest star will be Vernon Grant's Santa Claus - his favorite subject! Journey to Bethlehem
