Dig Those Crazy Cats

ROCK HILL, SC – The Winthrop University Jazz Guitar Ensembles, directed by Dr. L. H. Dickert, are set to perform at the Gettys Art Center, 201 East Main St., Rock Hill, SC, on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 7:30 PM.

Making their return to the Arts Council of York County’s stage, the Winthrop’s Jazz Guitar Ensembles have been performing on and off campus since 1992, and are dedicated to presenting quality performances of guitar ensemble music. Four, five or six guitarists perform with each ensemble, and are accompanied by a two-piece rhythm section including a bassist and drummer. You’re going to flip for this show filled with really hot jazz arranged by Dr. L. H. Dickert.

He has performed with such notable artists as Natalie Cole, Lou Rawls, Ray Charles, Lyle Lovett, Frank Sinatra, and Wayne Newton. In addition to his duties at Winthrop University, Dr. Dickert also serves as a performing artist and educator for Benedetto Guitars.
