An Educator’s Passion

Works by York County Art Teachers are on exhibit at Rock Hill’s Center for the Arts

ROCK HILL, SC – An Educator’s Passion opens at the Center for the Arts, 121 East Main Street, Rock Hill, SC on Friday, March 23, 2017. This show runs through April 29, 2017, with a free, public reception on Thursday, April 19, 2017 from 5:30 – 7:30 PM.

Art teachers are the champions of student artwork, often spending their days, and sometimes evenings, nurturing young talent. These talented artists are stepping out of the classroom and into the limelight to showcase their own works in An Educator’s Passion. This exhibit includes works by 20 teachers from York County, SC schools including Fort M

ill schools: Fort Mill High School and Nation Ford High School; Rock Hill schools: Northwestern High School, Rock Hill High School, South Pointe High School, Castle Heights Middle School, Saluda Trail Middle School, Richmond Drive Elementary School, St. Anne’s Catholic School and the Applied Technology Center; and York Comprehensive High School in York.

Fresh from the Studio featuring works by students who have participated in classes offered by the Fort Mill Art Guild at the Center for the Arts quarterly, are on display in the Perimeter Gallery throughout the duration of the An Educator’s Passion.

Rock Hill High School Photo Exhibit is on display in the Edmund D. Lewandowski Classroom Gallery at the Center for the Arts through April 29.

The Center for the Arts is located at 121 East Main Street, in the heart of Old Town Rock Hill. All three galleries at the Center for the Arts are open Monday through Thursday from 9 AM to 6 PM, Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, every second and fourth Saturday from 10 AM to 2 PM, and every second and fourth Sunday from 2 to 4 PM.

Exhibits at the Center for the Arts are sponsored by O’Darby’s - a Retailer of Fine Wines, Craft Beers, and Spirits.
